I have added two Amidships cleats, on both Port and Starboard.

These are useful when coming alongside, especially when sailing short handed.

I believe that this is offered as a standard option by Honnor Marine on any new cape Cutter 19.

I saw this option on “Salty Dog” when I sailed around Anglesey.

I have installed these with a 316 stainless steel backing plate, which I have had specially cut.

These are designed to spread any load to the hull at the back of the cleat.
